Composites Based on CaCl2-CaBr2 Salt System for Adsorption Applications: Designing the Optimal Sorbent for Gas Drying and Air Conditioning

The different adsorption applications require the development of sorbents with predetermined properties. One ways for fine tuning properties material is using a binary salt system as an active sorbing component. aim this work to conduct precision investigation thermodynamic data on sorption equilibrium composite “(CaCl2 + CaBr2) confined silica gel pores” water vapour. isotherms and isosteres (at uptake N = 1.5 3.6 mole/mole) composites were measured. It was shown that at fixed temperature, based solid solutions CaCl2 in CaBr2 form complexes pressure dependent CaCl2/CaBr2 molar ratio. isosteric enthalpy entropy (ΔH −48 ± 3 kJ/mol ΔS −108 2 J/(mol·K)) mole/mole midway between same parameters base pure salts CaBr2. novelty design optimized air conditioning hot climates drying cycles. use pores can be effective tool designing innovative materials
